It’s nearly spring, and we are getting ready to welcome our chicks.

If you don’t know about Surrey Docks Farm, then you should.  Not only do they offer a little bit of farm life right by the Thames, but they also work with schools and have some great initiatives, like the Classroom Incubator Project.

This year - with their help - we will be hatching our very own chicks!  The children will have the opportunity to watch and follow the whole process which will start early March.  This is a fantastic project where we explore a number of themes; from caring for the chicks and taking turns, to counting, painting, cooking as well as learning about other farm animals.  We are certain this will be a great Spring activity for all. 

But before you ask, the chicks belong to the farm, and once they hatch they will be safely returned together with the hired equipment.
